I’m Afyia, a UX designer living in Orlando, Fl. I'm originally from Brooklyn, NY but I’ve been living in the south a few years now and loving it more and more every day.
I'm a designer with a passion for helping non profit and mission-based organizations share their stories. My interest in the social impact space stems from my volunteer work and personal connection to the autism community. These communities provide the most opportunities to be creative in meaningful ways.
Prior to design I was a communications professional with various roles in marketing and project management. I hold both a BA & MA in Communications but once I realized that design could help create a better experience for people I made the decision to change careers. I've spent the past 18 months as a design apprentice learning to create accessible experiences using human-centered design processes.
I love that as a designer I get to do more than solve my own problems and my goal is to keep learning, continue growing and always push the envelope.
